Notably, his collaboration with the Smithsonian Institute resulted in "Amarakaeri: Connecting Biodiversity" in 2020, showcasing the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.
As a staunch advocate for conservation and sustainability, Michael has engaged in the Biodiversity Monitoring and Assessment Program (BMAP) course by the Smithsonian Institution. His contributions to wildlife photography have left an indelible mark. His photographic essay on Jaguars inspired a coin series of Endangered Wildlife promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. And his work is celebrated in a philatelic collection for the Peruvian Postal Service commemorating "The Primates of Peru”.
Beyond his photography endeavors, Michael's passion for sports has led him to work worldwide with prestigious organizations such as the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Pan-American Surf Association. His love for adventure is evident through his extensive expeditions. Including the NatWild Namibia / Africa Expedition in 2023 and the General Motors Hummer Extreme Team expedition in 2003 (from the Great Smokey Mountains National Park to Gates of Arctic National Park).
In 2016, Michael made a significant scientific contribution by disclosing the first photographic record of a golden Andean bear (leucism) throughout its South American range.
