At more than 3,800 meters above sea level, Lake Titicaca stretches across the high Andes like an inland sea. The light changes constantly here — deep blue water in the morning, silver reflections by afternoon, and fiery sunsets that seem to linger forever over the Altiplano. Considered the highest navigable lake in the world, Titicaca has long been a place where history, mythology, and daily life blend together in a way that feels timeless.
This journey focuses less on rushing between attractions and more on experiencing the rhythm of the region itself. From the floating reed islands of the Uros to remote Aymara communities along the lakeshore, the experience offers genuine cultural encounters, dramatic landscapes, and a closer look at traditions that continue to shape life around the lake today. Along the way, you’ll explore ancient ceremonial sites, colonial towns, quiet agricultural terraces, and the vast open scenery that makes this part of Peru unlike anywhere else in the country.

Upon arrival in Puno, meet your local bilingual guide and transfer to the port to begin your Lake Titicaca experience. Your first stop will be the Uros Floating Islands, built entirely from totora reeds harvested from the lake. Continue onward to Taquile Island, known for its panoramic views, stone pathways, and centuries-old weaving traditions recognized by UNESCO. Along the way, learn about the customs and daily life of one of Peru’s most culturally preserved island communities.
Lunch will be served at La Casa del Pescador (“The Fisherman’s House”), featuring local ingredients and regional flavors. In the afternoon, continue toward the Chucuito Peninsula and the small Aymara community of Luquina Chico near the Titicaca National Reserve. Surrounded by open landscapes and peaceful lakeshore scenery, the village offers a more intimate glimpse into life on the Altiplano. Later, settle into your family homestay for the evening, where conversation, local traditions, and a shared dinner create a meaningful cultural exchange.
Overnight at Luquina Family Homestay (Lunch and Dinner included).

After breakfast with your host family, continue exploring the cultural and archaeological landscapes surrounding Lake Titicaca. The morning includes an optional visit to Aramu Muru, the mysterious “Gate of the Gods,” a ceremonial stone doorway surrounded by local legends and spiritual traditions. Nearby, there is also the opportunity to visit Inca Uyo, an archaeological site linked to pre-Columbian fertility rituals. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the Altiplano, with grazing alpacas, quiet villages, and distant mountain ridges stretching across the landscape.
On the return toward Puno, stop in Acora to observe the ancient Waru Waru agricultural systems, developed centuries ago to protect crops from frost in the high Andes. Later, visit the colonial town of Chucuito, often called the “City of the Royal Boxes,” known for its quiet plazas, colonial churches, and lake views. Return to your hotel near Chucuito for a relaxing evening overlooking Lake Titicaca.
Overnight at Atojja Hotel or similar (Breakfast and Lunch included).

Depending on your onward travel plans, begin the morning with a visit to Sillustani, one of southern Peru’s most impressive archaeological sites. Located above the peaceful waters of Lake Umayo, Sillustani is famous for its massive stone chullpas, funerary towers built by the Colla civilization and later used by the Incas. Some towers rise more than 12 meters high and showcase extraordinary stonework that has survived for centuries.
As you explore the site, learn about the funerary traditions and ceremonial practices of the ancient cultures that once flourished throughout the Altiplano. The open landscapes surrounding the lake also provide opportunities to observe native Andean birdlife and wildlife. After the visit, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
Transfer to the airport and end of services (Breakfast included).
