After arriving in Anchorage, you'll embark on a scenic drive down the Kenai Peninsula to the charming coastal town of Homer, often referred to as “the end of the road” for its location at the southern tip of the Sterling Highway. Known for its stunning views of Kachemak Bay and its vibrant arts community, Homer offers plenty of opportunities to explore the local culture, quaint shops, and harbor life. Settle into your cozy accommodations, take a stroll along the Homer Spit, and enjoy fresh Alaskan seafood for dinner.

Today is your chance to explore more of Homer. Enjoy optional day trips like a boat tour across Kachemak Bay, where you can spot marine wildlife and visit the artist enclave of Halibut Cove. Alternatively, spend your day hiking in Kachemak Bay State Park or beachcombing along the Spit, taking in the expansive ocean views. In the evening, await confirmation of your early flight to Brown Bear Bay, which may be scheduled for tomorrow morning.

This morning, your adventure kicks off with a transfer to the airline headquarters for check-in. After weighing your luggage and going through the final briefing, it’s time to board your flight to the remote Brown Bear Bay Lodge. Keep your camera at the ready, as bears are often visible from the plane as you approach the lodge. After landing, you’ll hop onto an ATV with an open trailer for a scenic transfer to the lodge, where you’ll meet the friendly Brown Bear Bay team. Take a moment to settle in, and let the wilderness begin to captivate you.

Prepare for some of the best bear viewing in Alaska as you explore Brown Bear Bay’s pristine wilderness. Whether from the comfort of the lodge or during guided excursions outside, you'll have countless opportunities to see the majestic Alaskan brown bears in their natural habitat. Watch them fish for salmon, roam the shoreline, and interact with one another—all while learning about their behaviors from expert guides. These days will offer intimate wildlife experiences few ever have the chance to witness.

After an unforgettable stay in the heart of bear country, it’s time to pack up and bid farewell to Brown Bear Bay. Your journey continues as you transfer to Glacier Spit, where you’ll board a private charter flight back to Homer. Once you land, transfer to your hotel or another drop-off point in town, and spend the evening reflecting on your wildlife encounters.

This day is reserved as a buffer in case your flight from Brown Bear Bay is delayed due to weather—an essential consideration when traveling in Alaska’s remote regions. If everything runs on time, enjoy another day of exploring Homer or relax at your leisure.

On your final day, it’s time to leave Homer and return to Anchorage or continue to your next destination. Depending on your plans, you can either fly, take the bus, or drive back up the stunning Kenai Peninsula, with memories of Alaska’s untamed wilderness and the awe-inspiring brown bears etched in your mind.
